Ethos and Collective Worship
At Church of England School of the Resurrection, our strong Christian ethos lies at the heart of everything we do. Rooted in faith, love, and community, we inspire our children to grow in wisdom and character, helping them to flourish in every aspect of their lives.
As a school, we hold high hopes and aspirations for every child, striving to provide opportunities that enable them to truly flourish. We nurture each child to grow in confidence, work collaboratively, and take an active role in their own learning, supported and guided by our Christian community. Our aim is for all children to develop the wisdom, skills, and knowledge they need to make positive choices—spiritually, socially, and academically—so they can embrace and make the most of every opportunity life offers.
Our School Ethos

Our Christian ethos is at the heart of everything we do at our school. It shapes our vision, guides our actions, and inspires our relationships with one another.
Through our daily collective worship and our classroom practice, we promote and live out our Christian values in all aspects of school life. We follow the Manchester Diocese RE Syllabus, ensuring that our teaching reflects and deepens our understanding of faith.
Our school values—Faithfulness, Love, Wisdom, Courage, Self-Control, Joy, and Jesus Christ—are the foundation of our community. Each value helps our children to grow spiritually, socially, and academically. Over a few weeks, we focus on one key value while continuing to nurture and celebrate all others across the school.
Every week, we recognise children who demonstrate these values through their actions and words, celebrating their growing faith and character.
“By their fruit you will recognise them.”
Matthew 7:20
